Renewable resources are those that are replenished naturally in a reasonable amount of human lifetime.

In contrast, non-renewable resources are those that cannot regenerate in a human scale of time. For example, fossil fuels took thousands of years to form, so there is no way more will be formed to match the rate at which they are consumed.

Some examples of renewable resources are:

• Sunlight

,

• Wind

,

• Wood

,

• Fishes

However, renewable resources can become overexploited when they are not allowed to replenish, so it's important to do sustainable use of them in order to not deplete them.
