At midnight the temperature is -6oC. At midday the temperature is 9oC. By how much did the temperature rise?

Given that the midnight temperature and midday temperature are -6 degrees, and 9 degrees Celcius.

The rise in value is calculated as,


\text{Rise}=\text{Final Value}-\text{Initial value}

So the rise in temperature wis given by,


\text{Rise in temperature}=\text{Midday temperature}-\text{Midnight temperature}

Substitute the values,


\begin{gathered} \text{Rise in temperature}=9^(\circ)C-(-6^(\circ)C) \\ \text{Rise in temperature}=9^(\circ)C+6^(\circ)C \\ \text{Rise in temperature}=15^(\circ)C \end{gathered}
