Given a right angle triangle

The hypotenuse of the triangle = x

The adjacent side to the angle 50 = 6

We will find x using the cosine function as follows:

\begin{gathered} \cos 50=(adjacent)/(hypotenuse) \\ \\ \cos 50=(6)/(x) \\ \\ x=(6)/(\cos 50)=9.334 \end{gathered}

Rounding to the nearest tenth

So, the answer will be x = 9.3
