We can calculate the slope using the next formula

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

where

(1,-5)=(x1,y1)

(4,1)=(x2,y2)

We substitute the values into the formula above

m=(1+5)/(4-1)=(6)/(3)=2

the slope of the line is m=2, the answer is D
