In general, the volume of the cube is given by the formula below


V=s^3

Where s is the length of one of its sides.

Therefore, since the volume is 27c,^3,


\begin{gathered} V=27 \\ \Rightarrow s=3 \end{gathered}

Finally, the area of the square base is given by


A=s^2

Thus,


\Rightarrow A=3\cdot3=9

The answer is 9cm^2
