we have the equation


h(x)=-0.25x^2+3.4x

For x=0 -------> h(x)=0

so

The ball starts 0 feet above the ground

The equation represents a vertical parabola open downward

The vertex represents a maximum

Find out the vertex

Using a graphing tool

The vertex is the point (6.8,11.56)

so

The ball reaches a maximum height of 11.6 feet at a horizontal distance of 6.8 feet away from the golf club
