we have

y=(x-1)^2+4

Remember that the y-intercept is the value of y when the value of x is equal to zero

so

For x=0

substitute in the given equation

\begin{gathered} y=(0-1)^2+4 \\ y=1+4 \\ y=5 \end{gathered}

therefore

The y-intercept is the point (0,5)
