Part b.

If we want to dilate a figure we simply multiply each x- and y-coordinate with the scale factor we want to dilate with. Therefore:

Factor of 3

3\begin{bmatrix}{2} & {4} & {1} \\ {-1} & {3} & {5} \\ {} & {} & {}\end{bmatrix}

Multiply:

\begin{bmatrix}{6} & {12} & {3} \\ {-3} & {9} & {15} \\ {} & {} & {}\end{bmatrix}

Answer:

\begin{equation*} \begin{bmatrix}{6} & {12} & {3} \\ {-3} & {9} & {15} \\ {} & {} & {}\end{bmatrix} \end{equation*}
