We want to find the value of the rational expression when m = -7.

(3m+4)/(m^2+4m-5)\text{ when m=-7}

We basically just substitute -7 for m in the expression.

\begin{gathered} (3(-7)+4)/((-7)^2+4(-7)-5)=(-21+4)/(49-28-5) \\ =(-17)/(16) \end{gathered}

Therefore, the value of that expression at m = -7 is -17/16
