STEP 1

Our first step is to find the median.

This will require us to arrange the numbers in numerical order.

Doing so, we have:

63, 63, 66, 67, 73, 74, 74, 74.9, 81.5, 81.5

The median lies in between the number distribution arranged numerically and in this case, we have an even distribution. Our median is the average of the 5th and 6th number given thus:

(73+74)/(2)=(147)/(2)=73.5

Median = 73.5

STEP 2

Next, we plot a number line between 63 and 81.5

We need the interquartile ranges.

\begin{gathered} Q_1=(1)/(4)*10=2.5 \\ \text{For the 1st quartile, we seek the the 2.5th term in the distribution} \\ \text{This lies betwen the 2nd and 3rd term in the distribution} \\ (63+66)/(2)=64.5 \end{gathered}

The 1st quartile = 64.5

\begin{gathered} Q_3=(3)/(4)*10=7.5 \\ \text{For the 3rd quartile, we seek the the 7.5th term in the distribution} \\ \text{This lies betwen the 7th and 8th term in the distribution} \\ (74+74.9)/(2)=74.45 \end{gathered}

The 3rd quartile = 74.45
