Let's multiply 3/10 by 1/2.

(3)/(10)\cdot(1)/(2)=(3)/(20)

In this case, the product is less than 3/10. This the first example that agrees with Elizabeth's claim.

However, if we multiply 3/10 by 5/2, the result will be greater

(3)/(10)\cdot(5)/(2)=(15)/(20)=(3)/(4)

Where 3/4 is greater than 3/10. This example does not agree with Elizabeth's claim.
