Since the employee has a discount of %15, then he only pays %85 of the total price of the book. To find out how much this is we use the rule of three.

Then

\begin{gathered} 45\rightarrow100 \\ x\rightarrow85 \end{gathered}

The price of the book after the employee discount is

((85)(45))/(100)=(3825)/(100)=38.25

Hence, after the employee discount, the book will cost $38.25. Now we substract the coupon of $5; therefore the book will cost $33.25.
