The slope (m) of a line is derived with two points given as follows;

\begin{gathered} m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) \\ \text{Where A(1,-4), B(3,-1)} \\ m=(-1-\lbrack-4\rbrack)/(3-1) \\ m=(-1+4)/(2) \\ m=(3)/(2) \end{gathered}

The slope is derived as 3/2
