Let:

x = Jackson age

y = Jackson's mom age

Jackson's mom is 44, which is four times as old as Jackson, so:


\begin{gathered} y=44=4x \\ \text{Therefore:} \\ 4x=44 \\ \text{ If we solve for x:} \\ x=(44)/(4) \\ x=11 \\ \text{ We can conclude that Jackson is 11 years old} \end{gathered}
