SOLUTION

We want to find the area of the triangle in the image.

To do this, we will make use of the Heroes formula which states

\begin{gathered} A=√(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)) \\ where\text{ s =}(a+b+c)/(2) \\ a,b\text{ and c are the sides of the triangle } \end{gathered}

applying this, we have

\begin{gathered} s=(13+13+10)/(2) \\ s=(36)/(2) \\ s=18 \end{gathered}

The area A becomes

\begin{gathered} A=√(18(18-13)(18-13)(18-10)) \\ =√(18*5*5*8) \\ =√(3,600) \\ =60\text{ units}^2 \end{gathered}

Hence the answer is 60 square units
