On average the number of electric guitars sold in Pennsylvania each year is equivalent to nine times the average number sold yearly in South Dakota. If, on average, there are 95,607 electric guitars sold each year in Pennsylvania, how many are sold in South Dakota?

Since the average in Pennsylvania is 9 times the average in South Dakota, then

P=9* S

Since the average in Pennsylvania is 95607

Then P = 95607

95607=9* S

Divide both sides by 9

\begin{gathered} (95607)/(9)=(9s)/(9) \\ 10623=S \end{gathered}

There are 10623 sold in South Dakota
