Casey is buying snacks for a class trip. She has 16 snacks left over from thelast trip. She buys snacks by the case to get a good price. Each case holds 24snacks. Let the required number of cases be n.

Since each case has 24 snacks, it follows that n cases will have

24n snacks.

Since 16 snacks was left over from last trip it follows that the total number of snacks available is :

24n + 16

Therefore,


24n+16=160
