we have the coordinates of triangle ABC

A(2,4) B(-2,8) C(0,10)

step 1

Reflection over the line x=-2

Remember that

the line x=-2 ----> is a vertical line

so

the y-coordinates of the image are the same y-coordinates of the pre-image

A(2,4) -----------> A'(-6,4)

the x-coordinate of the image is -6

because, the distance of the point A to the line x=-2 is equal to 4 units, so the distance of the line x=-2 to the image must be equal to 4 units too.

B(-2,8) ----------> B'(-2,8)

is the same point, because is located on the reflection line

C(0,10) --------> C'(-4,10)

step 2

Dilation with a scale factor of 0.5

the rule is

(x,y) -----> (0.5x,0.5y)

so

A'(-6,4) -----> A''(-3,2)

B'(-2,8) ----> B''(-1,4)

C'(-4,10) ----> C''(-2,5)

using a graphing tool

one minute to draw the figure
