A proportional relationship is a relationship between 2 variable where the rations are the same. In a proportional realationship their is always a constant also known as constant of proportionality . Let us take a look at the following table as an example and determine if the table exhibit a proportional relationship

Let us prove the table represent a proportional relationship by checking if the ratios are the same through out

\begin{gathered} (4)/(6)=(2)/(3) \\ (6)/(9)=(2)/(3) \\ (8)/(12)=(2)/(3) \\ (10)/(15)=(2)/(3) \\ (14)/(21)=(2)/(3) \end{gathered}

The ratio is the same(2/3) Therefore, the table represent a proportional relationship.
