25x + 20y ≤ 500 : Amount used of clay

5x + 10y ≤ 160 : Amount used of glaze

5x + 3y = Total profit

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's say x = the number of vases and y = the number of bowls.

. Since the total amount of clay available is 500 oz, 25 oz are used for a vase and 20 oz for a bowl

=> 25x + 20y ≤ 500

. Since the total amount of glaze available is 160 oz, 5 oz are used for a vase and 10 oz for a bowl

=> 5x + 10y ≤ 160

. Since the profit on a single vase is $5 and the one on a single bowl is $3

=> 5x + 3y = Total possible profit

NB:

I used ≤ because 500 oz and 160 oz are the maximum amounts available.
