To solve;

we will use the formula;

A=a^2+2a\sqrt[]{(a^2)/(4)+h^2}

where a is the base and h is the height

From the diagram, a = 4 and h=3

substituting into the formula;

A=4^2+2(4)\sqrt[]{(4^2)/(4)+3^2}

A=16+8\sqrt[]{4+9}

A= 16 + 8√13

A= 16 + 28.8444

A=44.844 units²
