y < 4x + 5

y > -3x+2

The red line represents y < 4x + 5

The blue line represents y > -3x + 2

The area with the two colors is the area of the solutions

To draw the first line

put x = -1 and 1

y = 4(-1) + 5 = -4 + 5 = 1

The point is (-1, 1)

y = 4(1) + 5 = 4 + 5 = 9

the point is (1, 9)

Draw the line joining these two points

To draw the 2nd line

Put x = -1 and 1

y = -3(-1) + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5

The point is (-1, 5)

y = -3(1) + 2

y = -3 + 2 = -1

The point is (1, -1)

Draw the line joining these two points

Remember the lines must be dashed not solid

For the first line because the sign of inequality is <

shad the area under the line

For the second line because the sig
