Step 1

Given;


2W\text{ + 5Q=3P}

Required; To make w the subject of the formula

Step 2

Move 5Q to the right-hand side of the equation. Remember when we do this the positive sign on 5Q will change to negative.


\begin{gathered} 2W+5Q=3P \\ Move\text{ 5Q to the right-hand side-- 2W=3P-5Q} \end{gathered}

Step 3

We want to make W stand-alone, however, 2 is still attached to it. That is W is multiplied by 2. We then divide both sides of the equation by 2


\begin{gathered} (2W)/(2)=(3P-5Q)/(2) \\ W=(3P-5Q)/(2) \end{gathered}

Answer;


W=(3P-5Q)/(2)
