We often think of technological change as good for society. Give an example of an instance when technology has created or increased a public health issue and evaluate why this development ultimately caused harm or bothered individuals and the community.

Answer: After spending hours a day at a computer whether it be for work or school, you’ve probably noticed a strain on your eyes or things around you may look blurry for a while. There’s a reason for this is blue light. It puts a strain on our eyes, and not only does it just strain our eyes, but it also affects our sleep. This blue light actually reduces melatonin as well.

Answer:

While technology like phones, iPads, and Laptops have come a long way while also doing much good, they also have harmful effects.

When we think of technology, we often think of games, work, or school. No matter what age you are, you’ve likely used one or even use them on a daily basis. While these things help tremendously with society as we know, it also does bad for our physical and mental health.

Our posture, eyesight, and hours of sleep have worsened! Unsurprisingly at that.

After spending hours a day at a computer whether it be for work or school, you’ve probably noticed a strain on your eyes or things around you may look blurry for a while. There’s a reason for this, blue light! It puts a strain on our eyes, and not only does it just strain our eyes, it effects our sleep. This blue light actually reduces melatonin (sleepy feelings!) production, causing us to have trouble falling asleep!

Not to mention our emotional health, many teens and adults are more likely to feel depressed when using Social media. On these apps all you see is the happy part of people’s lives. They create this online persona which is often very different from their real life self, which often leads us to believe that their lives are so much better than ours. We may think “wow, they’re so much prettier than me. I really wish I could look like them.” While some people are honest and post pictures of their true self, others try to hide their imperfections through apps available to the public like face-tune.
