We have the following:

The first thing is to find the slope of the line, like this:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

replacing:

m=(2-0)/(0-4)=(2)/(-4)=-(1)/(2)

now, the equation has the following form:

y=mx+b

for b,

m = -1/2

y = 2

x = 0

replacing:

\begin{gathered} 2=-(1)/(2)\cdot0+b \\ b=2 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the equation in standard form is:

\begin{gathered} y=-(1)/(2)x+2 \\ y+(1)/(2)x=2 \\ 2y+x=4 \end{gathered}
