3x + 8y = -18 -----------------------(1)

6x + 16 y = - 54 ---------------------------(2)

Using elimination method,

multiply equation (1) by 6 and equation (2) by 3

18x + 48y = -108 -----------------(3)

18 x + 48y = 162 -------------------(4)

From this, we can deduce that there is no solution to the system of equations
