As seen from the table

For each values of the table

We define the variation from K to J


\begin{gathered} K\propto J \\ K=cJ\text{ (where c is constant of proportionality)} \end{gathered}

When J = 2, K = -12


\begin{gathered} K=cJ \\ -12=c(2) \\ 2c=-12 \\ c=-(12)/(2) \\ c=-6 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the formula connecting them will be


k=-6j
