The endpoints are a side of a rectangle ABCD in the coordinate plane at A(3,4), B(6,1) Find the equation of the line the given segment

The line segment is line Segment AB

step 1

Find the slope of segment AB

m=(1-4)/(6-3)

m=-3/3

m=-1

step 2

Find the equation of the line in slope intercept form

y=mx+b

we have

m=-1

point (3,4)

substitute

4=(-1)*(3)+b

4=-3+b

b=4+3

b=7

therefore

the equation of segment AB is

y=-x+7
