We solve as follows:

*We determine first the slope (m), that is:

m=(6-1)/(2-1)\Rightarrow m=5

Now, using the slope and one point of the line, we replace in the following expression:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

We can use any point of the line, but I will be using the point (1, 1), that is:

y-1=5(x-1)

Now, we solve for y:

\Rightarrow y-1=5x-5\Rightarrow y=5x-4
