The answer is not correct. There is a mistake applying the distributive property.

The distributive property says:


a(b+c)=ab+ac

But in this case, the 8 only multiplies the 6, and not the 2. The correct procedure is:


8(6+2)=8\cdot6+8\cdot2=48+16=64

The correct answer is 64
