Given a straight line angle = 180

So, the angles (9x-100) and (40-x) are supplementary angles

So,

(9x-100)+(40-x)=180

Solve for x:

\begin{gathered} (9x-x)+(40-100)=180 \\ 8x-60=180 \\ 8x=180+60 \\ 8x=240 \\ x=(240)/(8)=30 \end{gathered}

So, the answer will be x = 30
