Given

$\begin{gathered} f(x)=(x)/(2)-2 \\ \\ g(x)=2x^2+x-3 \\ \\ (f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)=(x)/(2)-2+2x^2+x-3=2x^2+(3x)/(2)-5 \end{gathered}$
