Notice that 100=10*10, and 10=2*5. 2 and 5 are prime numbers; therefore,


\begin{gathered} 100=10\cdot10=(2\cdot5)(2\cdot5)=2\cdot2\cdot5\cdot5=2^2\cdot5^2 \\ \Rightarrow100=2^2\cdot5^2 \end{gathered}

The answer is 100=2^2*5^2
