Part A.

Both of them are partly correct. It is an absolute function, so for negative x's, y's are decreasing. For positive x's, y 's are increasing

They are nonlinear too

f(x)=|x|

because every y is positive even when the x values drop to negative. Therefore, and absolute function has to be used.
