12=-(2)/(5)y

Step 1: Simplify the expression


\begin{gathered} 12=-(2)/(5)y \\ \text{cross multiply} \\ 12(5)=-2y \\ 60=-2y \end{gathered}

Step 2: Divide the both side by -2

Therefore the correct value of y = - 30
