To plot in the plane points with fraction number coordinates (x or y) you can rewrite the fractions as decimal numbers:


\begin{gathered} (-5)/(2) \\ \\ -5\text{ divided into 2} \\ \\ -(5)/(2)=-2.5 \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ (-1)/(4) \\ \\ -1\text{ divided into 4:} \\ -(1)/(4)=-0.25 \end{gathered}

Then, you have the next coordinates;

(- 2.5, 2) and (1, -0.25)

And the next graph:
