Find a slope of the line that passes through (8,8) and (1,9)

The slope formula is

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

we can use this formula by introducing the values of the given points. In our case

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(8,8) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(1,9) \end{gathered}

Hence, we have

m=(9-8)/(1-8)

It yields,

m=(1)/(-7)

hence, the answer is

m=-(1)/(7)
