Given data:

The given expression is 2(x/8+3)=7+1/4x.

The given expression can be written as,

2(x/8)+2(3)=7+1/4x

x/4+6=7+1/4x

x/4-1/4x=7-6

x/4-1/4x=1

x^(2)-1=4x

x^(2)-4x-1=0

Thus, the final expression is x^(2)-4x-1=0 after applying distributve property on left side.
