The expression is 2xy

we will substitute x and y by the given values

x = -1/4 and y = 3

2xy=2*((-1)/(4))*(3)

We put the values of y in the expression

Now we will calculate the value

2xy=(2*-1*3)/(4)

We will multiply the numbers in the numerator

2xy=(-6)/(4)

We will simplify the fraction by divide up and down by 2

\begin{gathered} 2xy=(-(6)/(2))/((4)/(2))=(-3)/(2) \\ 2xy=-(3)/(2) \end{gathered}
