Explanation:

In a right-angle triangle with angles of 30° & 60°, the side in front of angle 30° is half of the hypotenuse.

And the other side (in front of angle 60°) is equal to √3/2 × hypotenuse

So in this case we have:


x = (1)/(2) * 2 √( 3) = √(3) \\ \\ y = ( √(3) )/( 2) * 2 √(3) = 3
