w=width

2w+5=length

42=w(2w+5)

42=2w2+5w

2w2+5w-42=0

use the quadratic equation

(-5+√25+336)/4

(-5+√361)/4

(-5+19)/4

14/4=3.5

w=3.5 m

2w+5=12 m

3.5 by 12 rectangle
