Answer is a= 7 b= 5

Slope is found with the formula

(y2 - y1) over (x2 - x1)

Starting with (1, 3) and (9, 7)

7-3 over 9-1
4 over 8
= 1/2 slope

Now to find our unknown b
(1, 3) and (5, b)

b - 3 over 5-1 (b=5)
5 - 3 over 5-1
2 over 4
= 1/2 slope

Now let’s find our unknown a

(a, 6) and (9, 7) (a = 7)
7 - 6 over 9 - 7
1 over 2
= 1/2 slope

I graphed the two given points, then graphed the one known point and found a and b on the line.
