y= -3x+1

First you distribute the -3. So -3 times x which is -3x and -3 times -1 which is positive 3. Therefore you get y+2=-3x+3.

Then you subtract the 2 from both sides. 2-2=0, so you have just y. Now subtract 2 from the 3 on the right and you get 1. Therefore you get y=-3x+1.
