How is a protein made?

Describe how a change in the DNA leads to change in the protein that is made.

How is it possible that some offspring inherit a genetic mutation while others dont?

1. Cells use a ribosome. The ribosome assembles amino acids into the proper order and links them together

2. A missense mutation would happen. The wrong amino acid would be incorporated into a protein because of change, that single DNA sequence change, results in a different amino acid codon which the ribosome recognizes. It causes the protein to be less effective in doing its job.
