BODY Water content rises during pregnancy due to the water content of the fetus, placenta, and liquid amnion, as well as the expansion of the reproductive organs and the mother's blood volume. Clinical oedema is a common occurrence and indicates that extracellular water has increased.

When you're pregnant, you need more water than the average person in order to form amniotic fluid, produce extra blood, build new tissue, carry nutrients, enhance digestion, and flush out wastes and toxins
