Slope-intercept form looks like this: y=mx+b

First, you must do⤵⤵⤵:


(y _(2) - y _(1) )/(x _(2) - x _(1) ) = (rise)/(run) = slope

y: 5 - (-1) = 5 + 1 = 6

x: 1 - (-1) = 1 + 1 = 2

6/2 = 6 ÷ 2 = 3

Slope = 3 (This automatically means 3/1 btw)

Now, from the first coordinates (-1, -1), go upwards 3 units and to the right 1 unit. Do this until you get to the second point. (Here it is graphed for you, above⤴⤴⤴) You can see that the y-intercept is 2.

Now that you know slope is 3, and y-intercept is 2, all you have to do is put it in slope-intercept form. Answer is y = 3x + 2
