Is 5x+2 equivalent to 5x+2x ?

No, for if we subtract them, when we cancel out the 5x, 2, the integer, will not be equal to 2x, for not only is 2 already there, it is also being multipled by an integer. It possibly can equal though, if x was either 0, or positive 1, but if the x is not given, then no, they're not equivalent.
