Answer:Dear President Truman,

Thank you for taking the time to read my correspondence. My name is Eric Lafton and I am writing to express some concerns and provide support for the decision to put an end to this war.

I believe that the events that took place at pearl harbor justify a response, and that response should be final. We have been at war with the Japanese for some time now, and I fear their influence, along with the influence of all the axis powers will continue to grow. We need to put an end to this struggle, and set the world stage for an end to this conflict. We must drop the bomb to send the appropriate message to all other enemies that we will do whatever it takes to protect our country from foreign enemies.

Secondly, and most importantly, we should drop the bomb on strategic locations in japan to minimize civilian casualties and inflict such damage to Japan's military system so they may never recover. We need to take the head off of the snake and provide the rest of the Asian pacific countries with the knowledge that they will not be bullied by any other country any longer.

Thank you for your consideration and your time. God Bless and God Speed. Eric Lafton
