PART 1:

Total cost for pepper: $6.15

Total cost for tomato: $4.36

Total cost for onion: $1.30

Total cost for potato: $1.65

A

In total he spent $13.46 on his meal. (6.15+4.36+1.30+1.65)

B

( 3 x 2.05 ) + ( 4 x 1.09 ) + ( 2 x 0.65 ) + ( 5 x 0.33 )

PART 2:

A

Type of fruit Cost Rounded cost per pound Estimted total

Apple $1.75 $2.00 $10.00

Orange $2.35 $2.00 $8.00

Banana $1.50 $2.00 $6.00

B

In total Annie spent about $24. (10+8+6=24)

C

( 1.75 x 5 ) + ( 2.35 x 4 ) + ( 1.50 x 3 )= $22.65

The estimation was more than the actual amount. I think it was because the apple and banana were worth less than $2.

PART 3:

This will depend on where you live. Go online to your local grocery store to figure out how much everything costs!
