The diameter of a bike wheel is 27 inches. If the wheel makes 15 complete rotations, how far does the bike travel to the nearest whole inch?

1271.7 inches.

Explanation:

We know the diameter of the bike wheel is 27.

Radius of the wheel: 13.5 in.

The circumference of the wheel: 84.78

So let's say the distance traveled in 1 rotation. Based of on the circumference, we know that 1 rotation is 84.78.

So if the distance was traveled in 15 rotations we need to multiply 84.78 to 15. 84.78 x 15 = 1271.7.
