Explanation:

Multiply (x-5)(x+9)

Using the FOIL Method.

Multiply

x and x

x and -5

x and 9

-5 and 9

You should get x^2-5x+9x-45

Subtract -5x and 9 and you get your answer

x^2+4x-45
